The Martyrs of Fossoli Square

The land was private and part of the Villa Klinkman property next-door, although it did have public access. In 1924 the Klinkman family decided to sell it to the Municipality. They cleared up the garden and paid for a monument to King Umberto I to be built.
This simple memorial made of stone and white granite that surrounds the bronze bas-relief of King Umberto is also a wing of the basin of the fountain.
