The museum itinerary mainly extends through the first floor and centres on the room where the pontiff was born, which has been transformed into a chapel. Some of the most interesting items preserved in the museum are the original furniture, some furniture belonging to cardinals and popes from the Palace of the Vatican, articles of clothing belonging to cardinals and popes, objects the Pope used in his day-to-day life, liturgical and devotional items and items related to Don Achille Ratti’s mountaineering experiences. A series of commemorative medals and Pope Pius XI’s stamp collection are also on display.
